Finals and Travel Info!

The corps wrapped up it's season with and impressive finals performance and had the largest increase (4.15) from Semi's to score a 92.20! This is the corps highest Open Class finish and the corps highest score in history! Thank you to all the parents, staff, supporters and members for making this season truly one for the memory books!

The corps will be making a rest stop on Sunday and will be doing a member drop outside of Dallas and should be back for the final drop on Monday morning at 6am at the Southpark Meadows Shopping center off I35 and Slaughter Lane in South Austin.

Tis a gift! and see everyone in 2011!

Semis Finals!

Lucas Oil stadium is a very intimidating venue but Revolution did a great job of delivering another strong performance and one of the best visual shows of the season! So much improvement over the course of the summer and it assures this corps their highest Open Class placement to date, now the challenge becomes to try and break 90!

Quarterfinals!

Revolution performed it's best show to date and once again took the audience on a dark journey. As we progress during the week we will no doubt ride a roller coaster of emotions, this season has truly been one of the best and it will be hard to see it come to a close.

Familiar Places, Sad Faces

We have arrived in our housing site in Michigan City and once again we are at the same site we have been the last couple of years. It is great to be back and it is great to be in contention to medal and to once again keep the finals streak alive and well. It is also sad in knowing that this will be the last week we spend together enjoying the activity we love so much. Congratulations to all the corps who have made it this far and we wish everyone to have great shows on Tuesday and give the Michigan City audience (some of the best in the activity) a great show!

Sunday, August 8, 2010

Championship Week!

Tonight was probably the best show ever so far this summer, and the scores show it with a 87.70. We will head to Michigan City tonight and rehearse tomorrow as we prepare for quarter finals on Tuesday. Several of our corps members will also be competing in I&E in Michigan City and we know they'll do great!

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Great day Dubuque!

Wonderful weather and great rehearsal time! What more can be said for our last site before we hit championship week. While we are all sad to see the season conclude, we all realize it has been a long summer and we are ready to close it out in Indy next week. For those of you coming into championship week, we will be at Edgewood Elementary in Michigan City and will be at Beach Grove High School in Indy on Friday and Saturday morning.

Music on the March and big Mosquitos

The corps has really been impressed with the size of the mosquitos in Greendale. And they thought things were always bigger in Texas!

The corps scored 86.35 tonight at the Music on the March in Greendale. They will travel a short 3 hours and head to Dubuque, IA for the Music on the March 2 on Sunday. Then it's on to Michigan City for the start of finals!

Don't forget to contact Connie Gaddy at cmgaddy@austin.rr.com if you are going to Indy. She is working on coordinating a spot to meet in Indy so we can all sit together and support our Corps!

Drums on the Chippewa

For the first time this season, the score fell a little, and really very little. Tonight's score at the Drums on the Chippewa in Eau Claire, WI was an 84.75. The corps performance time was not the greatest and they were right in the middle of the performance order. But this will only make the corps more determined and work hard tomorrow and Friday to prepare for the next competition on Friday in Greendale

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

The scores continue to go up & up & up . . .

Despite having a shortened rehearsal due to rain, the corps had a fine showing at the Rhythm Across Rice Lake in Rice Lake, WI with a score of 85.0! Tomorrow is an off day so hopefully the weather will cooperate and the corps can get in some good rehearsal time as they continue to do some tweaking on the show. The next few events are in fairly close proximity to each other, so no more long bus rides!

If any Revo fans are planning to attend semi finals and finals in Indianapolis, please contact Connie Gaddy at cmgaddy@austin.rr.com She is going to try and coordinate a meeting place at Lucas Oil Stadium so that all the Revo fans can sit together and show our support for all the hard work these kids have done this summer. A few posters and signs are being made so we can really show how much we love our Corps!

Monday, August 2, 2010

Chetek, WI - what a place!

Despite the injection of rain into the rehearsal schedule, the corps really enjoyed thier short stay at Chetek, HS. The people in this small resort town have been very nice and the school has bent over backwards with accommodations. We only hope the storms hold off to allow the show to go on tonight in Rice Lake, WI!

Sunday, August 1, 2010

Final push to Indy

83.5 was the score last night in Dekalb, IL where the corps went head to head with 10 other open class corps. It was a great performance! They traveled last night and this morning they are in Chetek High School in Chetek, WI. The will spend the next couple of days rehearsing for the next competition is Rice Lake, WI.

Friday, July 30, 2010

Concert in the Park

The corps enjoyed performing a concert last night in IL and were also were able to listen to the Navy Jazz Band. They are working hard in rehearsals as they prepare for their big competition on Saturday night.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore!

The corps is in great sprits, and more importantly everyone is in good health. There has been a lot of great clean up work done and a bit of show tweaking during the past couple of days. The corps is now headed to IL for a three day stay. Day 1 will feature the corps in a concert, and a parade is scheduled for day 2. The first major open class competition will be on day 3 featuring eleven open class corps. The corps is more than ready!

Attached is a picture of the "Harry Potter" school in Kansas.

Kansas Bound!

After a day of rehearsal, the corps left Texas last night. Thanks to a thunderstorm that rolled in, they had quite a light show as a send off! This morning they are at Wyandotte High School (The "Harry Potter School") in Kansas City. They will be working to perfect the show even further before their next competition on Saturday in Dekalb.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Delightful in Denton!

The corps performed well last night at the Red River Thunder and once again have increased their overall score. They will remain in Denton today to rehearse, then travel tonight to Kansas and make a stop at a school the corps lovingly refers to as the Harry Potter School. Then it's on to Dekalb, IL.

Don't forget to check the mail drop information on the right. As we head into these last two weeks and prepare for finals, a word of encouragement from home is so appreciated! This has been an awesome summer and it's hard to believe we are in the final stretch!

Monday, July 26, 2010

San Antonio Rundown

After a great performance in front of a hometown crowd at Judson, the corps spent a little time with family before heading out on the road. There was a stop in Austin for a bus change and much needed Wal-mart run. Hopefully we wont' have any more bus issues for the remainder of the tour. The bus company has been great in getting the bus problems resolved as quickly as possible while we've been on the road. After the Wal-mart stop, it was on to Denton for tonight's performance at the Red River Thunder.

Friday, July 23, 2010

Kerrville, TX! {Family Day Info}

We are back at Kerrville and will be there until we head out for the San Antonio show on Sunday. Tomorrow is a unplanned family day and community performance.we will give the members time with family starting at 3 pm at the stadium on the main drag (across from Taco Casa and Big Lots) and do a Family Meal @ 5! We then will have the corps dress and do a full show run at 7:30 and then let the corps hang out with family and friends. We really have not structured this on purpose so it will feel more organic and natural. If you can make it come on out and join! Roughly 3 weeks left and the 2010 will be coming to a close! If you have any balances get those into Mike Q. ASAP!

Thursday, July 22, 2010

Final Clinic!

The corps finished out the stay in Big Spring with it's final Clinic of the 2010 season! The staff at Big Spring have been really great and while the water has caused some problems, we managed to make it through unharmed! We now get ready to head to Kerrville for our last local stay before we head up to the Midwest for the final leg of tour. The time has flown by and the corps is ready to put a strong close to one of this best and most challenging season. Reminder - Kerrville Family day is Saturday!

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Big Spring/ Odessa

The corps arrived in Big Spring after having trouble in the short 2 hour drive with one of the coaches. The Bus Company is working hard to correct the problem and assures us we will have better equipment when we depart for the Midwest. The corps showing in Odessa today was strong despite the short practice and shuttle jumps from the housing site. When you are on tour for as long as we are, you just learn to roll with the punches. We are having to adjust to the heavy tap water, so if you are in the area and can afford to buy some bottled water it will be welcomed!

**Special Note: We have added a family day event for this Saturday at Kerrville, Originally we spend this time in San Antonio during the SW Championships but with the change and by special request we are moving forward with this day in Kerrville!

Monday, July 19, 2010

Clinic and Exhibition

Today was our final day in Lubbock and we could not have had a better stay. We cannot thank the efforts of Mr and Mrs Fleming enough for coordinating the stay and for the support of the LHS Band Boosters and Directors for helping the corps out in so many ways! We look forword to a return next season! Now off to Big Spring, TX!

Sunday, July 18, 2010

Laundry, Props, and Uniforms

Can we fit any more things to work on for a Sunday? The time has come once again for the corps to clean up and head to the local laundromat. This time we are doing it in shifts over the course of two days. We also worked on our props and started putting some final touches on the corps uniforms to make sure we are set for the final 4 weeks of tour. There are now more days behind us than there are in front of us and we know soon the 2010 season will come to a close........sad, but true.

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Steady improvements

Day 2 of our stay in Lubbock has come and gone and the corps is in great shape to continue it's progress on all levels. The Band boosters from Lubbock High have been fantastic with their support of baked goods and fruit and the site is truly box 5 accommodations. Everyone's effort on the field is inspiring and i only hope the work they are doing now transfers to the performance field!

Friday, July 16, 2010

Lubbock Day One!

Welcome back to TX! The accommodations here at Lubbock High are great and these next 4 days we can do some more tweaking of the production. We will stay here until Monday, and Sunday will be another much needed Laundry day, so we will clean the beats and clean the sheets! Also, the Woodrow House Inn is absolutely breathtaking! If you are ever in Lubbock this is the place to stay!

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Ardmore - Take 2

The corps rounded out it's two day stay at the Red River Clinic and made the most of the hot weather. The corps will now head tonight back to Texas for a 4 day stay at Lubbock High School which will end in an exhibition and clinic for the host school and city guests. Special thanks to Mrs Fleming for doing an outstanding job at making all the arrangements!

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Clinic Time! OK Style!

The corps arrived in Armore, OK and put on their clinic attire and gave the Red River Drum and Auxiliary Camp a day to remember. The staff worked their magic and gave out some great vibes to the members and the corps showcased true style in both the hands on clinic and in the evening dress exhibition. We will remain in Ardmore one more day before heading in Lubbock for a 4 day stay culminating in a full dress exhibition!

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Hutchison Heat wave

It was hot, there were a lot of mosquitoes, and the show went on. While it was not the best conditions and the corps was a bit ragged with the drive (lost in the fog), the heat, and the bites, it was still a good showing. The corps now heads to Ardmore , OK for a two day clinic and maybe even some time at the lake.

Monday, July 12, 2010

Arlington Home Visit

The corps stopped off at Lamar High School in Arlington to rest the drivers and get some more work done on the tour! Stuarts wife, Julia took the time to get our last few members fitted for a uniform so we all should be ready for the DCI show in Hutchinson. It is great to be back into our truck and by Ardmore we will be back into the buses from 1st tour.

Sunday, July 11, 2010

BACK ON THE ROAD!

The corps wrapped up its stay at Kerrville for it's annual 2nd "all-days" and made some great progress both on the field and off. The corps still has much to add to the production but what is on the field has progressed by leaps and bounds. We are currently in route to Lamar High School in Arlington for a rehearsal day before heading into Kansas for the show!

Thursday, July 8, 2010

Kerrville Rain Storms

The corps has arrived in Kerrville and after transferring our equipment from the temporary Cali trucks into our regular trailers the corps has spent the day trying to get work done between rainstorms. While we do appreciate the cooler climate and the welcome rain, we want the sun to shine so we can continue to make progress on the 2010 production. Special thanks go out to the Fitzgerald's for bring some food items (desserts) to help supplement the menu!

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Texas Return!

The corps is back in Texas and in route to their housing site in Kerrvile, TX at the 1st Baptist Church. This will mark the first time we are not at the Cavary Temple but schedule conflicts and proximity to the stadium made this a great choice. Special thanks to Connie Gaddy for helping us secure the facility. We will continue to work on the program and need help on some construction projects (Props, Cart, and new uni add-ons) before we leave on Sunday, so if you have the time please come by and help us out!

Monday, July 5, 2010

Final California Run

The corps finish off it's California tour with a very solid performance. The same panel of judges over the last three contest have steadily seen growth and compensated the score. It will be very nice to get back home for a few days and get some things worked on but we will miss this great California weather. The corps will travel tonight and head to Tempe, AZ to rehearse and then Pass through El Paso before making our way to our annual stop in Kerrville, TX!

Sunday, July 4, 2010

Rehearsal, Laundry and Fireworks!

Every 14 days the corps enjoys a shortened day to take the stink out of their travel bags and head to the Laundry Mat. While not the best July 4th activity, it was much appreciated by everyone (Drivers Included). Due to the nature of the holiday, Stuart found a spot for the corps to go and enjoy a fireworks show, so all and all a good day!

Saturday, July 3, 2010

Parade and Show

The corps traveled to the Los Angeles area and are staying at California High School (Some students believe it to be the site for Grease, NOT!) This was a very busy day as we had a July 4th parade (on the 3rd) in Lake Forest CA and then participated in the Walnut California show at Mt San Antonio College. They performed a strong show and finally got thier underarmor to wear under thier uniform.

Friday, July 2, 2010

VIsta, CA

The show tonight in Vista was another solid performance and gave us the oppourtunity to integrate the new members into most of the show. The judges are wanting to see more of a complete product but we realize this is a marathon and not a sprint. While the Cali Corps end thier season in a few weeks, we still have over a month before our final show in Indianapolis so we need to pace the program to insure it stays fresh and does not peak too soon.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Special day!

Well, the corps put on the special show to a very special audience and had the chance to integrate the new members before the contest tomorrow. We also fixed some uniforms and picked up the Evil Character costume to help drive the story on the field. Special thanks to the El Camino High School Band Boosters for providing the dinner meal and for donations of Baked goods for the corps.

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

El Camino High School

The corps is all set up in Oceanside, CA at El Camino High School and the weather is absolutely great! It actually may be a bit too chilly as members are looking for sweatshirts and way to stay warm on the field. The Host school has offered to do a joint meal with their Band camp on Thursday and we will put on a dress run for their summer school special education classes. Overall the corps is doing very well and it will be hard leaving this weather in a week.

Monday, June 28, 2010

Fun in the Sun? at the Beach!

The corps enjoyed thier first free day of the season at the Santa Monica Pier. We had the whole day to enjoy the area and many members have never seen the Pacific Ocean before. While the day was mostly overcast, the members still braved the cool waters and had a great time. We will have 3.5 days of rehearsal to continue to clean the program and start adding in new members and body for the final 3 Cali shows this weekend.

Sunday, June 27, 2010

Atascadero, CA

The corps had thier final Northern California show today and while the show site posed some problems, it was the field grass that really caused the most fraustration. The show was a bit off due to high grass field conditions but the corps still powered through and held thier own. We will shower and sleep here at the show site before making the trek down to Southern Califonia.

Mail drop info!

Due to the inconsistencies in the California tour with housing changes I have yet to post mail drops. I will probably make the next drop at our stay in Kerrville after we return. We have had a couple of packages lost due to the last minutes relocation's the sponsors or throwing at us. Your patience is appreciated.

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Stanford beauty!

The corps short stay in Stanford was gorgeous and equated to a much better show than the night before. While we were all a little awestruck with the site, it was clear we had a job to do. We will continue to clean and add in our new members and late arrivals but judges comments say we are on right track.

Friday, June 25, 2010

California touring......

While another DCI housing site was changed last minute, it did allow us the time to stay at the show site and get some much needed extra sleep. The day ran smoothly and the show had lots of energy. We picked up our last Bari in LAX and will pick up our final two Tubas by Monday to complete the line.

Thursday, June 24, 2010

California craziness!

We were informed departing Mesa, AZ, that our housing site was a bust, but with lots of positive attitudes and a great staff on both sides, we made the day work and was one of the best on tour. The final run in Noble Creek was very energetic and Freebird rocked!

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

AZ Melting Pot

The corps arrived early morning in Mesa, AZ and went straight into block due to a very short contest day. Finally through the altitude drawbacks, all we have left to power through is the dry heat. We will continue to work on 5th movement to strength and clean, while the guard adds more work. The site host were very helpful! Special thanks to Tim's parents for helping with dinner.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

First Contest 2010!

The corps performed in their first DCI sanctioned contest after wrapping up a great rehearsal at the site. WE picked up a new guard member and brass alternate/Conductor to help finish out our membership goals. The show was very good but we all know we have a long way to go to improve and perfect this production. Score will be posted on side blog and updates to the maildrop are coming!

Monday, June 21, 2010

What a view!

The corps could not have asked for a more picture perfect backdrop for our first rehearsal day of the west coast tour! We had a great stadium and the Los Lunas High School faculty has been exceptional. The kids are adjusting slowly to the higher altitude but should be set for the show tomorrow.

Sunday, June 20, 2010

El Paso - truly just passing!

Today, our first official day on the road for 2010, was a complete success. The corps got to our destination site, picked up another brass player, got laundry done, Walmart stocked, and even got in some visual time at Bel Air Stadium. The corps is currently on the field reviewing drill while the driver's finish off their sleep cycle before we hit the road to Los Lunas, NM!

Saturday, June 19, 2010

On the Road Again!

The corps had a tough day but powered through all obstacles and put forth a great performance at the TXDCP in Austin today! We now hit the road to get to our first stop in El Paso before rolling out of Texas and debut the full show in competition in Rio Rancho, NM. More updates and pictures coming soon!

Friday, June 18, 2010

Dress Run Recap

The corps put on the uniform and delighted friends and family today as we debut the full field show in record time! While we have had little time to clean, the corps powered through the charts and have much room for growth. Special thanks to Mrs Fleming and her mother for helping to put the final pieces of the uniform puzzle together. The corps looked sharp and the guard uniforms and flags really help add to the concept.

Thursday, June 17, 2010

50 Days to clean.

The show is done! While it may not be pretty or perfect just yet, we have a whole season to re-write, clean, and perfect this incredible production. The corps has done some incredible things in the past 11 days and if we continue to push and raise our expectations, this show will make us all proud in the end. As we tell the kids daily, it is not a sprint but a marathon and it really has only begun! Tomorrow we get all dressed up and show off what we have done for the community/family, and then pack up, clean and hit the road!

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

End in Sight!

Today the corps worked on the first half of the closer and will finish out the show Thursday. Not only is this the fastest we have learned the production, it is also one of the most integrated drills this corps has ever attempted. The staff has done a great job in really making all the elements work together to sell this theme. Everyone is starting to get ansi as tour draws ever closer! CHANGE! Day 7, slice of Heaven

The corps continues to keep plowing away at huge sections of drill and they all enjoy the faster pace of this years program and appreciate the increase in the demand. We do have a few members struggling with knee/ankle problems but overall the corps is in great condition and are enjoying one of the best "all-days" in recent years. The opener is sounding really good for this early of a season and the hornline is growing by leaps and bounds. Day 1 completed!

Every year the first day of "alldays" always unfolds some new surprises and/or events and this one was no different. First off a member went off and got lost (Special thanks to a very fast responding Police, EMS, City Officials and School Administration for a great job of helping to locate him). We have made sure to once again remind members not to go exploring, stay on school grounds and always travel in pairs. We also have had a good break in the food department. Due to a special arrangement, the Natalia ISD school system will be providing hot breakfast and lunches for our members during the week while we are there! This save us lots of manpower and the members get some really great meals! Due to the storms last night we did not get to ensemble block but expect to make more headway tonight!

Menu
Breakfast = Cinnamon Toast, Cereal
Lunch = Grande Burrito, Spanish Rice, Pinto Beans
Dinner = Shepards Pie, and Fruit Cocktail

Monday, June 7, 2010

It has begun!

Yesterday about 85% of the corps moved into our "All Days" site and prepped for the first full day of rehearsal. From food shopping to truck unloading, and even some head shaving it was a very eventful day capping a very eventful weekend! Several members moved in as early as Thursday to work baseball and graduation events in Austin. Overall feel is one of excitement and eagerness to get cracking on piecing the "Fade to Black" production together!

Menu:
Breakfast = Cold Cereal, Bananas
Lunch = Pasta Salad, Pita Chips
