It begins ~ Summer 2009

Well the time has once again come for the summer season! Revolution capped it's camp season this past weekend with a family potluck and corps concert and the stage is set for a great 10th anniversary! Once again this blogger will follow the corps while we hit the road and provide daily updates for those of us at home wanting to share in the summer expirence! Stay posted as we do weekly updates on the Spring Training (All Days) before hitting the road to Indianapolis for the Drum Corps International World Championships!

Homeward Bound

In an attempt to save time, the corps took a shortcut leaving the Indianapolis area. The truck got stuck in mud, and the time lost in getting the truck back on the road put them several hours behind.

Currently, the members of the corps are at the movies and/or in a mall in Little Rock while the drivers are getting much needed rest. They should be back on the road to Dallas at 10 pm. There is an expected layover in Dallas of five hours, making the estimated arrival time in San Antonio between 9 and 10 pm Monday evening.

DCI Open Class Finals

Competition for 2008 is over. Revolution finished 8th place in the finals and were pleased with their performance. Lisa D of the guard got hurt in the show with a rifle, but she is doing fine with a cut on her lip. Corps members received a DCI finalist patch (cannot be purchased - must be earned) and a medal for their efforts.

The corps should be leaving Indiana soon (if not already gone) and will be on the road overnight, with a planned stop in Little Rock, Arkansas. The layover in Little Rock will allow the drivers their required sleep before hitting the road again. The corps will have a free day at a local mall before resuming their trip to San Antonio. They should arrive at St. Girad's Catholic High School sometime around noon on Monday. Will see you there.
